The Faith-Rest Drill

Faith

We can believe God's word. He never lies to us.

Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us?

Rest

We can rest our minds and not worry or be afraid because we know that God is working for us.

Psalm 37:7 "Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him."

Drill

We keep practicing things like shooting baskets and piano scales. Mom and Dad keep teaching us how to behave. We start to improve in these areas. The more we practice having faith and trust in God, the better we get at it.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make you paths straight."

How do we faith-rest?

     1. Claim a
PROMISE to calm our souls.

"When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee" (Psalm 56:3)

     2. We
THINK of a reason from the Bible as to why the promise will work.

God is all-powerful. Omnipotence
God is all-knowing. Omniscience
God is love.
God is our ruler.

"But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19)

      3. This all ends or results in our minds coming to God's way of thinking. We
RELAX.

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Romans 8:31

We have many different problems. We can use the same solution for each one. Think of these words.

We are using the faith-rest drill! It will keep us afloat.

God has given many promises to guide me.

These promises help me stay afloat. If I follow God's plan, He won't let me sink.
