“If you abide [live] in Me, and My words abide [live] in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”  John 15:7

When we pray, we must follow certain steps. First, we pray to God the Father.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door [don’t be a show off] and pray to your Father, Who is unseen. Then your Father, Who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6

Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.

At the beginning of our prayer we rebound if necessary. That means to tell God the Father our sins and then we will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous [fair] to forgive us our sins and cleanse [purify] us from all unrighteousness.   1 John 1:9

If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear.   Psalm 66:1

Then we give thanks to God for all that He does for us.

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with [an attitude of] thanksgiving.
Colossians 4:2

      Next, we pray for others.

“Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”   Luke 23:34

Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.   Luke 6:28

Now we can pray for our own needs and desires.

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.  Jeremiah 33:3

Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace.  Hebrews 4:16

We ask in the name of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ,

And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.  John 14:13-14

and in the power or filling of the Holy Spirit.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints [believers].  Ephesians 6:18
