Perfectly Loving God
|

What if we could have a friend who
is the perfect ruler of the universe? He also has an infinite
amount of love and always tells the truth. He has all knowledge,
is everywhere present, is all powerful, never changes his mind or
takes back what he promised. He is perfectly good, perfectly just,
and is always faithful. What if we had a friend like that?
Well, we do!! We have
a perfectly loving God, Who
has all of those qualities. We can always count on His
faithfulness in using these qualities for our benefit. Before we
were believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, God loved us with an
impersonal love. That means that He loved us because of Who and
what He is. Now that we are believers we have been given God’s
perfect righteousness or goodness. He loves us personally because
His love is directed to His +R, His
perfect righteousness, in us. He loves us with a perfect
love. We can’t even imagine perfect love. And, He loves us more
than anyone could ever love
us!!!

The cosmic system, Satan and his
angels, try to paint a different picture of God. They don’t want
Him to be seen as a l
oving God. They want us to think of God as an inflexible tyrant
imposing His will, wanting everything His way, with too many
rules. Scripture tells us differently.
Galatians 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free;
therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke
of slavery [the old sin nature].
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with
you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do
not be discouraged.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is
common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted
beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also
provide a way out [escape] so that you can stand up under it.
God sent His beloved Son to pay the penalty for sin for us. Does
that sound like a tyrant? Tyranny is authority without freedom.
However, God, our supreme authority, has freed us from the slave
market of sin. He has given us volition or free will to choose for
Him or against Him. Any rules that God has made for us are for our
protection and spiritual growth.

The cosmic system tries
to tell us that God condemns us and is disappointed with us.
Scripture tells us differently.
Romans
8:1 There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 103:10-11 He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay
us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are
above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear [respect]
Him;
Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a High Priest Who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have One Who has been
tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. Let us
then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him
over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us
(the) all things?
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am He Who blots out your transgressions,
for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Does this sound like a God Who condemns us and is disappointed
with us?

God is a perfectly, loving God!

The cosmic system tries
to tell us that God is waiting to take everything from us, and
will withdraw rewards. Scripture tells us differently.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable
[can’t be taken away].
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according
to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 37:24 When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong; because
the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
Psalm 37:25 I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not
seen the righteous [believers in Christ] forsaken or his
descendants begging bread.
1 Samuel 26:23 And the Lord will repay each man for his
righteousness and His faithfulness;
In logistical grace, God supplies all of our needs. He will never
leave us nor abandon us. He’ll never give up on us. God, in His
grace, gives and gives and gives to us!
Our
God is a perfectly, loving God!

The cosmic system tries to
tell us that God will abandon us when we need Him the most.
Scripture tells us differently.
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He
will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear
or be dismayed.
Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy
your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones;
and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water
whose waters do not fail.
The Lord is omnipresent. He will always be with us.
Our
God is a perfectly, loving God!

The cosmic system tries to
tell us that God will test us for the purpose of making us look
inadequate. Scripture tells us differently.
James
1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by
God”, for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not
tempt anyone.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is
common to man [the human kind]; and God is faithful, who will not
allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the
temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will
be able to endure it.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty
power.
Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through Him Who gives me
strength.
When we are feeling trapped, we need to look for the way of escape
that God provides. God always provides an escape route. He gives
us rebound to use if we give in to temptation. He gives us all the
other problem solving devices and Bible doctrine stored in our
soul. Our job is to learn, believe, and apply Bible doctrine and
the ten problem solving devices. Then, through the power of the
Holy Spirit, we will have adequate ways to get through the tests.
God never wants us to be spiritually inadequate!
Our
God is a perfectly, loving God!

The cosmic system tries to
tell us that God is harsh, especially in the matter of discipline.
Scripture tells us differently.
Psalm
103:10-11 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor
rewarded us according to our iniquities [sins]. For as high as the
heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward
those who fear [respect] Him.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you
should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Isaiah 30:18 Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and
therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord
is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.
God is always looking for a way to be merciful. God the Father
sent God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to suffer the penalty of
sin so that we could be saved. That was the greatest love and
mercy that God could give us.
Our
God is a perfectly, loving God!

The cosmic system tries to
tell us that God is limited in His ability to bless us because we
are so bad and we don’t deserve it. Scripture tells us
differently.
James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from
above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is
no variation or shifting shadow. [God is immutable, never
changing.]
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone
hears My voice and opens the door [rebound], I will come in to him
and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Psalm 103:12-14 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He
removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has
compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those
who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that
we are but dust.
God loves us soooo much that there is nothing that we can do
to disappoint Him. He never gives us what we deserve as far as our
sins. He always deals with us in grace! God doesn’t expect us to
make payment; in fact, we can’t. There is nothing that we can do
to diminish His love for us. He knows us; nothing that we do
surprises Him. He has made provisions in eternity past for
everything that we would encounter. God is not limited in any way.
He is dying to bless us, tapping His foot waiting to bless us.
Our
God is a perfectly, loving God!
